This unique hexagon shaped vintage porcelain canister with lid is sure to be a conversation piece! It features painted vegetation, including bamboo branches and Chinese pine trees in cobalt on a pale blue ground. The lid is accented with a lion-shaped finial. A nice counterpoint to blue and white porcelain pieces.
In overall great condition for its vintage age, this substantial piece has no cracks, chips, or crazing (fine cracks in the glaze). Glaze irregularities as shown are part of the manufacturing process. Minor wear to the unglazed surfaces is consistent with the piece's age and prior use. Green felt has been affixed to the bottom of the jar as shown. Original potter's mark on the bottom of the piece.
