This lovely vintage Famille Rose lidded jar features a typical medallion design in shades of pink and green with touches of gold. As this piece does not depict people or birds, its style would be classified as Rose Canton.
In overall very good condition for its vintage age, neither the jar nor lid of this piece has large cracks, chips, or crazing (fine cracks in the glaze). Minimal paint loss as shown is consistent with age and prior use. Irregularity on the underside of the lid as shown appears to be part of the manufacturing process rather than a chip. Marked "Hand Painted in Hong Kong" on the bottom of the jar. The maker's mark dates this piece's production to the late 20th century.
